Gate House Lamps Focuses on Bright Future
ASHEVILLE, NC, February, 2006 - Gate House Lamps is continuing business under the new ownership of Davis Yanik, who purchased the company from Maria Burril on February 8, 2006.
The company was nearing its tenth year in business when New South Business Ventures facilitated the sale. Gate House specializes in designing and manufacturing high-end custom lamps, shades and accessories for professionals in the home décor industry. A successful refocusing effort in 2001 put the company in an ideal position for resale when Burril decided to "retire" to her primary love: designing product.
Gate House Lamps are created from custom designs, then manufactured and hand painted to order in the United States, fashioning a unique niche in the home décor industry where poor-quality options are imported or manufactured for mass retailers. The company's strategy to focus on quality as a differentiating point in the marketplace has been rewarded with a strong reputation among high-end retailers and interior designers.
New South Business Ventures recognized the opportunity in Gate House Lamp's renewed strength as a company, finding an ideal buyer for the company's turnkey manufacturing, sales and marketing business. David Yanik likewise was looking for a manufacturing opportunity that complimented his engineering background, and credits New South's Trevor Runberg with working through complications to keep the sale together through completion.
Operating out of a 6,000sf facility in Woodfin, NC, Gate House is poised for continued growth. Plans are already in place to expand opportunities while keeping Gate House's exquisite quality and "made in America" reputation intact.
